JUST PHILOSOPHISING - THE DIVERGENT PATH OF LEAPHAR'S LIFE JOURNEY - A GOOD DAY AT THE PUB! PART 1.

It is worth contemplating, whether it is more beneficial for a person to have an extended journey along the path of life, or to just have an average or even apparently premature ending of one's journey.

This being so, since only the consciously living person can make a comparison.

So, in the final analysis, ones your journey is done, finished, it matters not, to you, as opposed to others looking on, whether your journey was short or long.

What is probably beyond contention, is that a person whose journey is prolonged, has more chances of being confronted with more opportunities for experiencing both more pain and pleasure.

Consider the life of Leaphar, for examply, his life, sofar, might not meet the definition of being extended, as there are others whose journey is already much longer than his.

But, of course, even the use of the term or verb, 'extended', is a relative one, as their are many others whose journey has already ended way before they got anyway near Leaphar's mature age.

Still, Leaphar is of an age where a person, depending on the direction or course of the winds of life, is more susceptible to age and sickness related misfortune.

In his case, probably his biggest misfortune, sofar, has been that he is going through the process of the early stages of dementia.

Notwithstanding this malady, Leaphar's life seems to be repleted with the duality of permanence and impermanence.

It is difficult to speak with any great certainty about how Leaphar is perceiving and interpreting the world, as its stimuli impact on his senses.

This being so, as it is not enough to ask Leaphar what he thinks of this and what he feels about that.

As what he thinks might continue to take no account of your constant and repeated explanation as to why his argument does not stand up.

While his feelings can change without you noticing any observable changes in his external environment, to account for the change.

Consequently, Leaphar's affect and emotions can be quite fluid, when you expected them to stable, and quite stable, when you imagine that they would be fluid.

Yes, our emotions and our affect are going to be a factor of the interaction between the external environment, and how we perceive and respond to it, sequentially.

However, when a person's perception is negatively impacted by dementia, the interplay between internal and external environment can probably becomes confused and confusing.

Two and two, it seems, either does not necessarily makes 4, or, if it does, it does not always do so readily and/or in then normal manner.

To be continued.
