JUST A THOUGHT - ON THE INCONVENIENCES OF TRUMP AND PUTIN'S 'ILLICIT AFFAIR.' PART 4.

President Putin was, if he had been allowed to complete his sentence, was going to say. 

I know that your victory against the other candidate - President Putin is averse to personalising things, and would prefer to use the third person - is being attributed to Russian interference in your country's internal affairs. 

I also know that there are those in your country, who have become intellectually regressive.  And have returned to the  infantilistic mentality of 'the Russians are coming' perception of the world, which preceded the collapse of the former Soviet Union. 

But, no, I am not Russia, although I am of Russia and, during the tenure of my presidency, must take ultimate responsibility for the actions of my government. Whether or not I have personally authorised them.


However, surprised by the reaction of President Trump, and being mindful of the first principle of estranged international affairs and diplomacy. President Putin chose not to complete his response. 

Or to point out that President Trump, probably because he has a tendency to hear what he wants to here, had erroneous interpreted the beginning of his statement. 

Including having not or chosen not to hear the "I" preceding the 'know', and  interpreting the 'know' to mean 'no.'

And so it is, that, as much as President Putin and President Trump might have loved to be able to work together. 

There is a limit to how much they can do for each other, in case it is interpreted as unethical and/or 'undemocratic.' 

This is not because Putin particularly likes Donald Trump, but more likely, probably because them working together would enable him to better promote what he sees as Russia's self-interests.

But, just in case it does not happen, the Russians, it seems, are employing of propagandistic and undiplomatic means to try to achieve their objectives. Which is what is really causing this diplomatic problem. 

Which is really the end and the beginning of end of international diplomacy.
