JUST A THOUGHT - SYRIA: THE BEGINNING OF THE END GAME OF THIS STAGE OF THE STRUGGLE? THE END...!

No, it is time for the 'rehabilitation', if that is what it takes, for Syria's President Assad. 

Yes, it might well have been the case the case that he and his government could have dealt with some of the circumstances which have led to this terrible war, differently. 

And prevented it developing into the catastrophe which it has become. But that was 6 terrible years ago, and the past cannot be undone. 

The dead cannot be brought back to life, and the terrible destruction be undone. 

God knows, we have seen how the invasion of Iraq by the American and their allies have let the forces of hell out to destroy the lives of millions of Iraqis. 

If only that wrong could be made right, and the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people be undone. 

But it cannot; instead, it is still continuing. How then, does the perceived 'evil or crimes' of President Assad, compares with that which has been wrought by the Americans and Europeans, compare to that President Assad? 

Once again, it does not; even after it has been inflated massively by the Americans and Europeans and Sunni allies. 

So, we are where we are, with President Assad and the Syrian government, and armed forces still in charge of most of the country. 

They are the legitimate government, and it is not for any other nation to insist or force them to step aside. 

They need to stand fast, and the Americans and their European and Sunni allies should accept that as a de jure and de facto reality. And stop trying to find spurious reasons for creating their alternative fact, their alternative reality. 

The EU should also adopt the pragmatism which it is sofar adopting in rejecting America's attempts to renege on and nullify the Iran Nuclear Agreement.

President Assad and his regime, indeed, Syrians who have been hoping and fighting to maintain the integrity of their country as a sovereign state. 

Do have a great deal to thank the Russians, the Iranians and Hezbollah and their other supporters for. 

And yet, they, the Syrian government and people, will have somewhat failed in their mission, their endeavour. 

If, in fending of the Americans and their Nato and Sunni allies, they have had to do so at the cost of becoming subservient to the Russians and the Iranians. 

As opposed to being treated as their equals, who just happened to need their support at a crucial time in their evolving history. 

After all, to what extent does it profit  a man or a woman or nation, if their only choice is between which master they have or whose pawn they become, in order to deal with the imminent danger confronting them? 

So, let us hope that the Russians will not be tempted into becoming the 'Judas goat', who befriend and supported the Syrian Government and its President. 

Before turning around and sacrificing him for wider political advantages, as the Americans and their European and Sunni allies are pressuring them into doing. 

Russia needs to unequivocally make it clear that this is not and will never become a part of their objective.
