ROBERT MUGABE HAS GONE - ZIMBABWEANS SHOULD NOW BUILD THE BETTER NATION THEY COULD HAVE HAD! PART 1.

'As Zimbabweans take to the streets to celebrate President Robert Mugabe's resignation, and hope for the cleansing of the Zanu-PF machinery which he and the Party's hierarchy have used to oppress the people and repress the development of the country.

The Mantra of the people should be that of, 'never again.' Never again will we promote the transformation of any of our leaders into becoming 'demi-gods.'

Never again will we allow ourselves to become so disempowered and and oppressed by the elite minority.'

It is not yet clear what are all the factors which have contributed to Robert Mugabe reluctantly resigning from his position as the President of Zimbabwe.

He is reported to have said that he resigned voluntarily, in order to facilitate a smooth transfer of power. And yet, this cannot entirely be so.

Since it is just a few days ago that he went on TV to deliver a speech, in which he said he would be taking charge of Zanu-PF's pending congress in the next week or so.

So, there is unlikely to be anything voluntary about Robert Mugabe's resignation; he has resigned because he had been forced to do so.

Because his colleagues, his party, Zimbabweans and the tide of history has turned against him. He has become, as it were, yesterday's leader and news.

And so, it is goodbye, President Mugabe, long live free and 'democratic' Zimbabwe! In

To a great extent, Robert Mugabe and his 38 years of misrule of Zimbabwe and impoverishment of the country and its people, are nearly already irrelevant.

It belongs to the past. It is now the future and what the country's government and people needs to do to build and secure a healthy and prosperous future which matters. That is the priority.

In September 1983, someone who had been watching and 'supporting' the Liberation Struggle in Zimbabwe.

Before it proved successful, and then left Zanu and Zapu to fight it out to see which party would be dominant, made the following observation,

"Millions of people ll over the world had avidly followed the courageous struggle of the Zimbabwean Liberation forces, in their effort to rid that country of Ian Smith's racialist regime...

Since it should be obvious that no revolution is ever won, simply overthrowing the old political regime, the new Zimbabwe would have been seen more for the opportunities it offers its people.

Namely to build a revolutionary society which is more egalitarian and responsive to the needs of the masses.."

To be continued
