ROBERT MUGABE HAS GONE - ZIMBABWEANS SHOULD NOW BUILD THE BETTER NATION THEY COULD HAVE HAD! THE END..!

Clearly, Zanu-PF is now a  discredited political party, and one which should probably have no on-going major role in the New Zimbabwe, if it is to cleanse itself of the crimes and corruption associated with that party.

At the same time, it should not become a proscribed political party.

Like all other political parties, it should be left to the electorate to decide which parties they want to represent them.

By being able to freely and fairly cast their votes in free, fair and well-organised elections.

Again, returning to the observations of September 1983, the writer of the article noted that, there were three major factors threatening Zimbabwe's revolution.

The first being the destabilising influence of her powerful and hostile southern neighbour, South Africa. Which, currently, is a factor which is no longer applicable, with  that  becoming liberated in 1990.

The second being the insurgency  problem in Matabeleland, and the actual and potential alienation of the inhabitants

Which, again, in 2017, is a something which still has some resonance, and might need some truth and reconciliation work. Although it might not be as raw as it was back in 1983.

And,finally, probably most crucially, the soundness of the government's policies, and the competence and political commitment of the people implementing them.

A factor which, as is now patently clear, has led to the destruction of Zimbabwe's economy, and the unrealisation of its and its peoples true potential.

With Zanu-PF having, in their attempt to maintain their control of Zimbabwe, inflicted a state of suspended, arrested development on the country, by putting it into neutral gear.

Resulting in the fact that the country is now in a much worse and less viable economic, political and social position than it was in 1980, or, for that matter, 1983.

This, then, is the enormous  challenge of the New Zimbabwe and Zimbabweans. That of rebuilding and expanding their economy and  society. And competing for the position of being a good role model of a viable and enlightened post-colonial African government and country.

With such a massive challenge, by what stretch of the imagination would any responsible person or people take the risk of handing such a task to Zanu-PF.

The people of Zimbabwe should never again trust Zanu-PF with the freedom and independence.

Any obligations they have for it, Zanu-PF, as opposed the Zimbabweans who  fought and died for the liberation of the country.

Should be considered to have been paid by the unnecessary suffering they have had to endured during the past 37 years.

Zanu-PF is the way of the past. Is has nothing to offer the people of Zimbabwe, and should be viewed as a curse and not the hope of a blessed future.
