JUST A .THOUGHT - OF DYING AND DEATH THE END!

That aside, the transition from living to being dead can occur in what can seem a very brief period of time.

From apparent good health and mobility to poor health and restricted mobility.

From good mutual interaction to significant emotional withdrawal. Then to suddenly diagnosed, as tends to be the case, terminal ill-health, to now, the occurrence of anticipated death.

The latter coming within a matter of several days. How can it be; how could it have been so?

And now, begins the process of this dear friend of ours, becoming no longer an integral part of our lives, as they are no longer here, but somewhere else.

And is therefore no longer here, to reinforce their occupation of that part of our lives which had become theirs.

When they were physically alive, and not just one of our many significant memories.

Of course, it is not really the case that this dear friend of ours has only recently assumed this now diminishing role in our lives.

Because, in truth, the role of this friend has started to become diminished since it became obvious that their time was approaching.

When we began to start feeling the pain of their predicament, of their pain and to contemplate life without them.

The feeling of anticipatory grief. And now, when they are no more with us, not only do we still feel their loss.

But the sorrow, the sadness and torment which now fill the void in our lives. Which has now been emptied, and leave us with a feeling of both relief and shock and sadness.

But the dying process continues, as it always will, and us humans must find ways of coping with it, while we are alive and continue to contemplate our own demise. At which point the baton is past on for the still living to take it up.

A stage which unconsciously precedes our birth and follows our moments of ergosumness upon the earth.

Let us be contented, be accepting of our mortality, and look forward to consciously embracing the moment of our death.

As we unconsciously become devoluted back into our basic trace elements. To be freed of all life's travails and torment.

To attain the ultimate freedom from the entirety of what it is to be human. Consciousness of what is, including ourselves.

While we are alive and able to live, it is our duty to live our lives to the fullest we can, and endeavour to avoid the thoughts of dying and death impeding our enjoyment.

Let us not consciously spend too much time contemplating death, either ours or others, since it is a process which is destined to be always with us.

Not least, because of the pointlessness of grieving for those whom death has, as is its right, taken from us.
