JUST A THOUGHT - ON THE WAR IN SYRIA: IT IS TIME FOR THE REBELS TO CONCEDE AND END THE MISERY PART 2.

If we are to accept that the lives and living of humans is of the greatest value, then none of the goals which were being fought for in this brutal war, was really worth the sacrifice. 

Not least because only the deceived faithful and the incorrigible 'patriot' and 'nationalist' would really believe that, 'dying for something is really the best way of achieving it. 

Dying only achieves oblivion. The people who led or initiated the uprising which has resulted in this brutal war.  

Can hardly have imagined that it would have erupted and morphed into the hellish cauldron  which it has evolved into. 

Indeed, it is probably unlikely that they would have acted the way they did.  Had they known of the action and reaction chain which it would have given rise to.  

And how it would have nearly destroyed Syrian State and its people. 

And made it an opportunistic and deadly theatre for the external enemies of the country to intervene, on the pretext of wanting and trying to 'save the Syrian people.'

And now, at the beginning of 2018, the Syrian Government and the rebels are still fighting, in what seems to be the final major military battles of this catastrophic war. 

This fighting, as it has been doing from the beginning, is being fought over the dead and maimed bodies of both combatants and non-combatants. 

The suffering of the people and the land is truly grievous, and is crying out for the fighting to be stopped. 

No More! You/we have had enough, too much, both the people and the Land of Syria, is now saying. 

But the combatants, being true to the insanity of battle, in the torment of their minds, are either not listening or are not capable of doing so. 

Instead, they are thinking of asking, or forcing,  willing the  suffering people to be patient, for just an indeterminate little longer. 

And for what? So that they can do some more killing, some more maiming, some more destruction of what is left standing in 'the areas occupied by the 'enemy.' 

And yet, who is the 'enemy', except for the uninvited foreign brigades that have come to join the killing and the destruction? 

Yes, the enemy among the Syrian people are no other than the Syrians themselves. 

Temporarily divided by religious, tribal and political affiliations, while they suspend their humanity and resolve to live in peace with their compatriots; as Syrians.
