JUST PHILOSOPHISING - ON THE OTHER-WORLDLY OR PARALLEL WORLD OF THE INCARCERATED AND THEIR FAMILIES. THE END..!

What might her boyfriend, partner, husband or other relative might have done to have led to him having been incarcerated in this prison?

What had he done and/or been found guilty of, no doubt after the due process of the law, which warranted him.

Who is probably a father, a husband and bread-winner being judicially removed from his family and forced to live away from them, behind the walls of this prison?

Might he a drug dealer, making his living off the misfortune of those who have become addicted to drugs, or who resort to using it  for 'recreational' purposes?'

Or, might he have been someone who have an established a life of crime, making a 'profession' out of breaking the law?

Of course, he might have been someone who has been incarcerated for a crime of violence which has resulted in serious harm to another person or persons.

Probably even to this woman who was now dutifully visiting him. It is not inconceivable for it to have happened.

On this occasion, however, I am just indulging in sheer speculation.

Whatever was her imprisoned relative's, or friend's crime, she and her family, like all the others who must make this poignant, and in some cases, regular visits to this prison, now have something in common.

Their enforced and judicial separation from a member of their family, is at the heart of this, their membership of the community of the the 'other-worldly or parallel world of the incarcerated and their families,'

It is a strange and enigmatic world. A world of sadness, of grief and sorrow.

A world in which, at their low points, the inhabitants might allow themselves to shed a tear, even many tears.

Or might feel like cursing or even curse the incarcerated, for having brought such a burdensome calamity upto their loved ones. Upon their families.

An isolated world in which members of the families of the incarcerated might be moved to curse the judiciary for having been so harsh on their loved ones by incarcerating them, and/or for what they perceived as too long a sentence.

And, as the inhabitants of this parallel world continue with their private and even secretive functioning in it.

Not wanting to make public the shame they might feel, they must also co-exist and live with others who have no direct links with the 'parallel', which is never far away from those who exist in it, as if ' life is still proceeding as it has always done.

Which, in a sense, it probably is, since, just like how peace and war, happiness and suffering, life and death, are always co-existing in the world.

So must life continue, not only for those who do not live in the 'parallel world', but also for those who inhabit it.

They must continue to live the lives they are fated to live, however difficult it is, while they are having to live it.

To be as strong as they can, and try to fortify themselves and live the best lives they can, however difficult the particular circumstances.

After all, is this not how it has to be, while humans, though continuing to proclaim their apparent civilisation.'  Still consider it fitting to incarcerate other humans in conditions of great deprivation, as punishment for wrongs which could have been remedied less inappropriately and costly?
