JUST PHILOSOPHISING - ON WHETHER 'RACE' OR CULTURE IS THE MOST IMPORTANT IN DETERMINING OR INFLUENCING ALLIANCES. PART 1.

The world is becoming more complex than it has ever been before, with regards to people of different 'races', ethnicities  and cultures living together, or, at least in close proximity towards one another. 

Yes, it really is the case that this, of itself has been going on for hundreds of years, if not millenniums, and is, in that context, not new. 

However, what is new, is the awareness that people have about these, the 'differences' between them.  The causes of these differences, how they are perceived in particular societies.  

How they are impacting on society and particular groups of people, and their willingness to challenge the negative impacts.

These differences have become more talked about than they have ever been before. 

They are placed under the scrutiny of the media, which in turn forces governments to take notice and action, whether ameliorative or repressive. 

With people of different 'races', ethnicities, religions and cultures moving from countries far away and converging on the 'new European and American Eldorado.' 

In their search for a viable economic livelihood, there are times when their hosts will find themselves in situations where they have to reflect on 'racial', cultural, religious and ethnic allegiances. 

Or how they would align themselves, were the worse case scenario to occur, and they had to decide who they would align themselves with.

Consider, for example, the current concern about the large increase of crimes in which knives are used, in Britain's capital city of London. 

As many people will know, London is a large metropolitan and 'multi-cultural' city. A city inhabited by people of white, black, Chinese, Asian, Mediterranean, Arab, et al. 

In the past, when people in Britain heard about knife crimes being committed in their country.
