CANADIAN GRAND PRIX - VETTEL, BOTTAS AND VERSTAPPEN MADE IT STICK; HAMILTON SLIPPED! THE END..

It is somewhat ironic that it is now that we should be experiencing more 'boring races', as there is this greater tendency for main competitors to their positions, as they are unable to overtake their challengers.

Not so with the past dominance of Mercedes and Red Bull, when, although it became routine for them to compete with their rivals and prevail, we were still offered the trill of them doing so. Not any more, it seems.

It has been probably about 2 years now, since Lewis Hamilton has  lost his tendency to repeatedly make Pole during Qualifying.

By displaying the blisteringly fast and expertly executed pace which has become his hallmark.

Although he is still able to deliver the full package on occasions, he has lost the consistency to do so.

And it is not just about the 'new drivers on the block or grid', having stolen Hamilton's thunder.

It is not just the Daniel Ricciardo and Max Verstappen have been morphed into the younger model of the Hungry, at time Reckless and always Intrepid Hamilton.

No, Hamilton's Hammer, it seems, has been deflected by the concealed iron in Vettel's 'Velvet Glove.'

I get the impression that, with all that is going on at present, it is not just a matter of 'car problems' and at times inappropriate race strategies ineffectively implemented, or good race strategy badly implemented.

Lewis Hamilton, it seems to me, has loss some of his hunger, his passion, his love, and his verve to regain his reputation as the Pole Master on Saturdays, and the Race Winner on Sundays.

Lewis has worked very hard for his success. And yet, as his dad, McLaren and Mercedes can tell you.

No man or woman, however hard they have worked, is solely responsible for their successes.

Success is the result of Teamwork being done like 'clockwork.' With every member of the team constantly performing their role faultlessly, consistently.

It is quite possible to become bored with anything, including striving to become the winner of World's Grand Prix Championship, again.

And yet, if Hamilton is getting bored or is losing his passion and hunger to do it again.

Might it not be best for him, and the driver who would take his position at Team Mercedes, that he declare his intention to retire from the sports?

After all, now more so than ever, the Formula 1 Drivers' Championship cannot be won, unless the it be by a driver who totally motivated committed to doing all that is required to win it. Both when the going is tough, and when it is like the proverbial 'piece of cake.'

Yeah, I am probably being a bit hard of you, Lewis, but chances are, that if you are still as motivated and committed to take the 2018 Formula 1 Drivers Championship, you will be being harder on yourself.

Because you will know that, you have and Team Mercedes have had to work competently to win the Championships you have already won.

But you must damn well worker even harder and more efficiently and successfully, if you are to retain your Championships. For atleast another year.
