JUST PHILOSOPHISING - ON PREPARING FOR THE CHALLENGES OF THE NEW DAY. PART 1.

So, how do we prepare for the challenges which we are to confront each day?

What are the challenges we will face will undoubtedly have some impact on how we prepare ourselves for them. We can make plans to meet those challenges which we know about.

Such as the more routine ones. The ones we are faced with every day or most days. Such as, yes, what will we wear to work tomorrow?

What are we, or, more pertinently, what will I give the children for their lunch? Who is going to collect them from school for me, while I keep my regular after work 'keep Fit appointment.?

What am I going to 'do for dinner tomorrow? Jesus, how am I going to cope with the rush hour morning commute, again?

And what about the evening rush hour?  Oh god, I really do not want to think of it, now, you might think.

Of course, for some children, it might not be about how are they going to wake up on time to do their chores and get the bus to school on time.

It might be about how are they going to meet the challenge of the two or more miles walk to school?

How are they going to manage making the perilous journey to school or even work, along a route which most or many adults urbanites would fear to threat?

Quite clearly, how we prepare for the challenges of the day are influenced, if not determined by what they are. By how difficult they are and how skilful we are at coping with or managing them.

The more skilful we are, the less of a challenge they might appear. Irrespective of whether we are children, young adults or mature adults.

This is not surprising, since skilfulness is born of experience and make into routine.

When we have become very good at doing what we do, we are able to much of it, normally, without having to spend conscientious time thinking about it and then doing it.

How we prepare for the challenges of the day, is also a matter of mental, physical and material preparation.

To be continued!
