JUST PHILOSOPHISING - ON THE SIMPLICITY OR COMPLEXITY OF, ENDEAVOURING TO 'KNOW OURSELVES'! PART 1.

It is given to us primates, us humans, that we should have the capacity and inclination to use it explore and examine our worlds, both inner and outer, to gain knowledge and greater understanding.

So have we become ergosumised. We think, therefore, we are. And from that, we branch out on the quest of endeavouring to find out  who 'are we'?  'Who 'am I'?

And what are the relationship that the 'we' and the 'I' have and/or should have with the world, in general, and with specific 'other/s' within it?

For the 'we' and the 'I' be able to coexist, and mutually prosper, on a sustainable basis?

We seek knowledge in order to come to informed views and decisions about how best to navigate the world during the short duration of our lives; our ergosumness.

These things I believe and hold to be relevant to the lives of us humans.

There is a strand of our lives which is given to striving for our survival, which leads us into pursuing an abusive and exploitative relationship with our outer-world.

And which will oftentimes result in 'short-term gains' at the cost of our long-term welfare and security.

This can be demonstrated by the example of people who deforest the land around them, to meet their need for shelter, fuel and feed their livestock.

But negligently fail to replace what they extract from around them. Only to find that they have to constantly be moving farther and farther away from their homes.

In order to find resources to meet their needs, and try to make good the damage they have wrought to themselves and their environment, by their unsustainable lifestyles.

The same can be said, to some extent, about the country's whose economic base has become depleted, resulting in its citizens having to immigrate to other countries.

To be continued!
