JUST PHILOSOPHISING - ON 'KNOWING OURSELVES'; MAKING THE JOURNEY OF! THE END?

Beyond the interest of other humans who are similarly preoccupied.

After all, how can mythicism helps or elevate the human consciousness for more than a little time, occasionally, unless such a human become engrossed in it?

How can us resorting to trying to find 'the gods' and converse with them, mystically, really help other humans.

When our humanity is and can only have currency in our social interactions with other other humans?

When it can only be measured by and in our level of social interactions with other people?

When the only meaningful truth about us, humans, cannot possible be about how significant we are, in the scheme of our universe and of the multiverses, as a whole.

But rather about how insignificant, fallible, ad hoc and incidental is our existence?

And so it seems to me that, just as how the believers, looking for significance, create and perpetrate the theory, the myth of a sentient god.

So is the danger confronting those who resort to trying to find and 'know themselves', through mysticism.

By trying to create, or, they might argue, to reactivate the once conscious and dynamic relationship between them and the elements.

It is really just another ritualised religious preoccupation. With humans imagining and claiming to have powers which had previously been said to be the attributes of the gods.

All because of the reluctance of us humans to accept our mortality, our insignificance and lack of purpose, beyond that which we have ascribed to ourselves, in the evolving evolutionary chain

Which has to be the eventual outcome and conclusion of our quest 'to know ourselves.' That our lives only has meaning and purpose within the milieu of our humanity.

The physical, intellectual, emotional, imaginary, compassionate, and/or destructive space which we occupy, in the still expanding and contracting Cosmic void.

To 'know' and share with our fellow humans, is to 'know' and share with ourselves and of ourselves. And it is unlikely to greatly benefit humanity for us to retreat into mystical isolation, for more than a brief period of time.
