JUST A THOUGHT - IS PRESIDENT TRUMP FOMENTING STRIFE BETWEEN EUROPEANS RUSSIA? PART 2.

The assisted collapse of the former Soviet Union might, had there been the will and the prudence, have led to the dismantling or radical reformation of Nato. 

And to reducing, still further, the fraternal tensions and pent up nationalistic frustrations in  Europe, but it was not to be so. 

That is not the way of a self-seeking organisation, which yearns to preserve itself, at all cost. By creating or contriving a new raison detre, if it has to. 

Which is what Nato and its bureaucracy have done, by, amongst other things, recruiting the eager and compliant former members of the former Soviet Union into Nato. 

And leaving the underbelly as it were, of Russia and the newly formed Russian Federation, more exposed to potential attacks and intrigues from Nato than ever before.

The former leader of Russia, Mikhail Gorbachev, might well have thought that he had succeed in bringing down the 'Iron Curtain' and raising the new curtain on 'glasnost', but that was only the appearance. 

There were forces, both in the West, including the United States, and in Russia and other European countries, which opposed the new order.

If 'glasnost' had been able to shine its light of 'openness' and 'transparency' onto the world.  

Then, we might all have already known that, the conflict between the West and the Russian Federation. 

Is not a conflict between or about 'light and darkness', 'freedom and oppression' or about 'democracy and dictatorship.' 

If that were so, we would not have to look to this conflict; we can already see it in the relationship between countries in other regions of the world. Yes, in the Israel/Palestine conflict, for example.

No, the conflict and tensions between the Russian Federation and the West, especially the United States of America. Is about economic wealth, economic exploitation, and the weaponisation of comparative economic power. 

A fact which is the striking embodiment of Trump's Presidency. Probably like no other had been before.
