JUST A THOUGHT - ON THE APPROACHING END TO THE WAR IN SYRIA, THOUGH STRUGGLE CONTINUES. PART 1.

War is Hell with a capital H. It kills and maims people, both the innocent and the combatants. 

It makes no or little distinction between men and women, old and young. 

It destroys property and livelihoods with impunity, and has no regard for what it destroys and for the labour and resources which have gone into giving life to them. 

War does not recognises and show any deference to to beauty. No, war hates beauty and what is good, and so it makes it its objective to destroy them. 

War does not like life and the living, and so it sets forth to destroy them. 


War is a master craftsman of how to destroy, and it does not differentiate between destroying people and buildings; the habitat of humanity. 

The primary purpose of war is to destroy those who the combatants and their supporters oppose. The more the better, or so it seems.

Which is why the world should now be breathing a sigh of relief that the terrible 7 plus years War in Syria, could now be approaching its end. 

The reporting of this catastrophe has, in recent weeks and months, been noticeably sidelined by the world's most popular and/or populist media. 


They seemed to have lost interest in reporting what is happening in Syria's battle to regain and defend all of its sovereignty. 

The apparent disinterest of the world's media seems to be reflecting the disinterest and re-prioritisation of the war by the involved world and regional powers and leaders. 

Except for probably the Russians and the Saudi and Turkish governments. 

They now, it seems, have bigger or other fish to fry. Including the challenge of combating Donald Trump's trade war against Europe and the world.
