JUST A THOUGHT - ON THE APPROACHING END TO THE WAR IN SYRIA, THOUGH STRUGGLE CONTINUES. THE END?!

The chances are that the rebels, none of them, are going to succeed in achieving whatever their objectives were. 

If they are going to make a positive contribution towards their country and the Syrian people, then, their focus should be on what their objectives should be, now. 

It would not be a bad start for them to first consider self-preservation. 

To focus on what they need to do to save their own lives, and then that of the ordinary people around them. 

They people whom they have persuaded to support them, and those who, although not really having been their supporters, were not able to escape their lives being controlled by them.

In other words, it is time for the rebels, whether they are currently being supported by the Turkish and Saudi governments, or the Americans and others, to call it time. 

To negotiate their surrender to the Syrian government. To look towards surrendering. 

To cease to continue to be the cause or the pretext for more Syrians to be killed and maimed, and for more property and livelihoods to be destroyed. To aspire, again, towards life and living. 

To cease to willingly take a chance on martyrdom, and focus on living and making a positive difference, in this world, and not the nebulousness of the next.

It is time for the rebels, of whatever ethnic, tribal, religion or political affiliations, to stop serving the interests of foreign countries and powers. 

To down their arms and stop being mercenaries and even traitors, working to fulfil the plans of foreign powers, against the sovereignty of Syria.

No country will normally help another, unless it is in its own self-interest to do so. Even worse is the case when a foreign country opts to use the citizens of a region of another country, to pursue its own self-interests, to the detriment of that country's sovereignty.

The war has been a massive tragedy, but so are all wars, and it has been what it had been, and that cannot be undone. 

What can be done is to call time on it, and bring it to an end; within the next 6 or so months.

If Allah were able to make his views known, it is highly probably that this is what he would have wanted. 

What is undoubtedly the case, is that it is most probably the fervent desire of most Syrians. 

That the fighting, the killing and the wanton destruction of what makes Syria what it has been, before this partially self-inflicted catastrophe, should cease. And that peace should prevail over the land of Syrian!
