JUST A THOUGHT - ON THE CHANCELLOR ANGELA MERKEL'S UNACKNOWLEDGED LEADERSHIP! PART 4.

Why do her detractors accuse her of opening Germany to migrants and refugees, and to the negative impact of those migrants who commit crimes. 

And ignore the positive impact of her policies; of her humanity and humility; penance, if you like, for wrongs which had been perpetrated by the Nazis in WW2?

Chancellor Merkel is certainly no 'soft touch' Chancellor; one does not survive in a leadership position in difficult times, as she had done, by being 'soft.' 

The showing of humility and compassion are not, of themselves, the attributes of a 'weak or soft' leaders and countries. 

We have seen the tough role Angela Merkel played in the demanding that Greece, at great personal and social cost to the country and its people, make and implement tough decisions to assume its economic responsibility.

Acts of humility and compassion denote strength and integrity. The readiness to sit down and talk, negotiate with people whose conduct or behaviour you oppose, instead of threatening or harming them, are signs of strength. 

Angela Merkel knows that Europe is still threatened by its underlying historical fragility and tribalism.  And that, if it is to avoid unravelling. 

Then it must strengthen, and not lessen its attempts to reinforce its unity and collectivist approach, towards resolving its current and future challenges. 

She knows that it Germany and the European Union should not become 'Brexitised.'

It is extremely difficult for any political leader to be successful in maintaining his or her leadership in the 'liberal democratic State.' 

As we can see from the effect of Chancellor Merkel's Interior Minister, Horst Seehofer's impudent 'brexitist' challenge on her government.  

By seeking to impose immigration policies which are counter to those Merkel wants to pursue.
