JUST A THOUGHT - ON THE CHANCELLOR ANGELA MERKEL'S UNACKNOWLEDGED LEADERSHIP! THE END, FOR NOW!

For the media, including the enigmatic RT. The fact that  Angela Merkel's prudence and political prowess has resulted in, at least a strategic and temporary resolution of immigration policies issue, is probably an undesired outcome. 

But, for Germany, Europe and the world, continued stability of the German government, is of vital importance. 

Long may Angela Merkel and her government continue to play the role they are now playing trying to achieve this stability without betrayal of core values. 

Especially when so much of the previous 'certainties' are not being replaced with 'uncertainties.'

A people or nation does not become great by allowing themselves to be led by those amongst them, who espouses a vision which embodies the 'lowest common denomination of societal values.' 

Of intolerance, hatred, appeal to ethnic and religious differences and tensions. 

Peace, stability and mutual prosperity does not lie within the vision of the Trumpists, the Orbanites, the Selvinists and their likes of the world.

Such a state is more likely to be found in the aspirations and endeavours of Merkelists. 

People and nations who are motivated by hope and aspirations for a better and inclusive world for all. And not by fear and ethnic, religious, national and racial preferences.

Which is why I am of the view that Angela Merkel has done much to justify the epitet of,  'Merkel der GraBe!' 

She is not a person, a leader, who has to present herself as a 'toughie nationalist', a questionable 'patriot', like the Orbans, the Trumps, and so many 'meist' and inwardly looking leaders in Europe and the world. 

Leaders who are loathe to be bothered to perceive of and strive to realise a world, which is not limited to their own ethnic, religious, and national selfish interests. 

Whose worldview, weltanschauung, do not risk taking Europe and the world back into the nightmares of the 1940s, 1950s and before.


Of course, Angela Merkel can only succeed to the extent to which she has the support of the German people, and is able to inspire Europeans to align themselves with her vision of Europe, and the world.
