JUST A THOUGHT - ON IMRAN KHAN ELECTION VICTORY AND A PROBABLE NEW DAWN FOR PAKISTAN. PART 1.

If the world's media is to be believed, Imran Khan's PTI Party has won the recent general elections in Pakistan, and will, in due course, become the next Prime Minister of that country.

Imran Khan was a successful cricketer before he became the soon to be declared Prime Minister of Pakistan. In the past, he had been a successful cricketer and leader of his country's national team.

And now, after a couple of decades after he has entered into the rather turgid, tribalistic, religious and corrupt political system in Pakistan. 

And has gone through a period of gestation, making him a seasoned politician.  Imran Khan has now achieved the esteemed and privileged position of being on his way to becoming his country's Prime Minister.

Imran Khan has already declared himself and his political party the winner in the elections. 

Although this is only in the sense of his PTI party being the one with the a majority, though not absolute majority, of the elected parliamentary candidates. 


This, of course, means that Imran Khan can legitimately be expected to assume the position of becoming the next Prime Minister, and forming the next government. 

Providing he can find suitable allies among the other successful candidates, to form next government. 

Imran Khan has already made a post election speech, in which he has expressed his intention to form what would probably be the most progressive and radical government Pakistan has sofar never had.

Diplomacy ought to be the process by which nations, through their governments, establish and maintain mutually beneficial and peaceful relationships between them; Diplomacy is not, like the Gulf Cooperation Council members and their allies, including Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Bahrain and the UAE states, trying to bully and intimidate Qatar into doing their bidding, by surrendering its sovereignty.  Neither is diplomacy what the American government is doing, in using sanctions to force the governments of states of Iran, Russia and North Korea, into complying with its demands.  About what action they should or should not take in pursuing what they consider to be in the interest of their countries and people.  No, none of this is diplomacy. Rather it is method of force and compulsion, which is not synonymous with principle or practice of diplomacy.  Which is about the art of establishing and maintaining peaceful and mutually beneficial relationships between different countries.
