JUST PHILOSOPHISING - ON THE PREVALENCE AND TRANSFERABILITY OF A STATE OF 'OTHERNESS' ! PART. 3.

We are evolutionary preset, not to cooperate at first sight, but to fear, to be suspicious, to be defensive and, if necessary, to attack outsiders, others. 

In earlier ages of our evolution and progression of enlightenment, our ancestors would or might have made physically attacking, and, killing the outsider, the other, at first sight. 

Fearing their own physical elimination of enslavement by them. Or the theft of their lands, which, for many, might have been equal to killing them.  

However, moving forward to 'more modern times', the explorers, acting on behalf of their countries' elites, would.  

With the power of superior force and guile, move about the world and 'discover' take other peoples' lands.  

And subjugate the people and then welcome immigrants to move in and 'replant' or 'repopulate' them. Changing their demographics.

And no sooner than this deed is done, there comes the time when these former immigrants would put up the draw-bridges and proclaim that no new immigrants is allowed.  

Unless, of course, they meet the government's strict criteria for admission. 

The kind of criteria which are, just as it was when the 'original colonisers and immigrants' were welcomed, intended primarily to benefit the host country, and not to 'help the new immigrants.'
