SEX AND ITS VARIOUS AND CONFLICTING ROLES IN SOCIETY. PART 1.

'Sex', as it applies to human society or condition, is somewhat of an ambivalent term. 

It and its various derivatives, such as 'sexiness', can mean different things to different people and at different times. 

It can be used to define both a process and an outcome, such as, 'having sex.'

Because of these ambiguities, it makes good sense to define what I am talking about, when I make mention of 'sex.' 


In what could be seen as its original context, 'sex', and more specifically, 'having sex.' 

Defines the act of a male of the human species having 'intercourse', or 'copulating', or 'shagging', or 'fucking' or 'screwing.' 

Or any of the other numerous terms which are colloquially used to define this act, with the female of the human species, and, of course, vice versa.


In its basic and physiological form, this, is what 'sex' or 'having sex', is really about, when it is applied to the human species; to us humans, as it were.  

And is stripped of the more intricate and complex, but still fundamental reasons for why we do it or do not do it. 

And the rituals which our ancestors have developed to specify who can 'have sex' and how they go about doing so, within the societal norms.

   It is unlikely that things were ever getting better.   So, what are my thoughts about Hamas' unprecedented attack on parts of Israel, which has resulted in hundreds of men, women and children, some of them soldiers, being killed and thousands of Israelis becoming shocked and traumatised as they have probably never experienced before?
