SEX AND ITS VARIOUS AND CONFLICTING ROLES IN SOCIETY. PART 6.
No longer is there the expectation that their parents will become 'match makers' and find them marriage partner so that they can get married and have a family.
Not with the increasing dissolution of practice of marriage being seen as a pre-condition to having children, and therefore making 'having sex' a necessity.
There has to be some room for people to 'flirt', 'make passes at each other.' There has to be a common language between them, which promotes and stimulate friendship.
'The proverbial language of love.' Of which music, dancing, watching the movies, speak loudly.
In other words, there has to be a certain amount of 'political incorrectness' to promote seduction and 'mate-finding' in modern societies.
A certain amount of 'free-liaison', instead of the 'restrictive and repressive' proscription and practices which dominates the 'having sex to have children', and, later still, for the man's sexual pleasure' period.
A certain freedom from having to conform the rigours of being 'chaste', of chastity.
To the provision of a place of 'sanctuary', where young people, young adults can learn about one another and the conforming world of adulthood.
To be continued!
