SINGAPORE GRAND PRIX - ANOTHER WIN FOR GRAND MASTERS TEAM MERCEDES AND HAMILTON! PART 2.

It was not an especially exciting or adrenalised race for most of the time.

Hamilton and Team Mercedes competently started the race and kept the caravan of cars behind him.

Knowing that, with the limited opportunity for them to overtake, he was up to the task of controlling the race pace, until he and Team Mercedes were ready to move to the next stage of their strategy.

By upping the pace and putting just the required few seconds of margin of safety between him and Vettel, and then Verstappen.

Probably the most adrenalinised moments of the race were its restart, after the Safety Car took the lead to allow for the safe recovery of Estaban Ocon's car.

Ferrari's failed attempt to undercut Mercedes and Hamilton, by being the first to make a pit stop and try to gain an advantage on Hamilton.  Verstappen's pit stop and thrilling undercutting of Vettel.

And, probably most nail-biting of all, Verstappen reducing Hamilton's 3 1/2 second lead to just over half a second, when both of them got caught up in traffic jam.

An event which, when he was asked about it after the race, gave us an insight into the calibre of this Intrepid racing warrior.

As he noted that he did not thing it would have been fair for him to have tried to overtake Hamilton at that point.

In several years time, when Hamilton retires from Formula 1, it is more than likely that the sports will be blessed with a Team Mercedes-Max Verstappen partnership.

To be continued!
