JUST CONTEMPLATING - ON SIGNS OF GROWING OLD. PART 4.

To become as doubtful as us, the old, have become. No longer willing to have another debate on whether the world is round or flat. 

 Or about why it is that, if the world is round, then, why are people at the edges not falling off into space. 

 Even though, for the younger generations, these almost immutable dilemmas and paradoxes.  

 Which have been challenging the intellect of each curious person, as they gaze upon the perceived universe. Are new to them. 


Having, due to their young ages, just impacted upon their senses, their vision and their intellect. 

 While us, who are old, no longer believe, trust that humans will really ever resolve the problems which confront us, and become significantly better. 

 Even though, we, the old, did have much hope and belief, when we were as young as the younger generations.  


That, with sufficient passion, sufficient force of reasoning, with the right oratory, we could convince our fellow humans that we could all sculpt or nurture a better life for all humanity.

Of course, it is not surprising that the younger generations should have some mistrust of the old. 

Indeed, the survival of our species is dependent on humans being optimistic in the belief that we humans can survive; can make things better.
