JUST PHILOSOPHISING - ON WHAT MIGHT BE THE 'TRUE ESSENCE' OF US HUMANS. THE END....

After all, if the dead, the disembodied souls of dead folks and/or animals could be resurrected. 

Then, what would happen about folks and animals, humans and animals who are living, in body and 'soul', at the inception of Judgement Day? 

Considering that we have already be told that 'flesh is corruptible', and cannot enter the Kingdom of Heaven? 

In order to place still living humans,on par with the now probably listless souls of the dead. 

They, the living, would have to go through an unprecedented transformation of being caused to shed their bodies, their physicality. 

And so, it seems to me, that our 'core', our 'essence' as humans, is probably no more than our thoughts, our emotions and experiences, while we are conscious of ourselves and of others. 

In other words, our state of being alive, and once this is removed from us, we are no more than the memories which others, the living, carry of us.

There is probably nothing mystical in all of this, except probably the mysticism which us humans tend to or may add to things  in our attempt to find and give them added significance, value and purpose. 

Our socialised tendency to believe that, things, even as complex, sentient and intelligent as us.  

Must have an 'higher purpose', than just evolving, being transformed, live and then die and return to cosmic dust, like so many other evolved living species.

But there are no 'higher purpose' and the only 'essence' of our being is to be found in our 'living'; us being alive. 

Of all our constituent parts or organs, our bodies are probably more crucial than our 'minds' or our 'souls.'  

In the sense that the latter cannot have sentient existence, or the ability to act or be acted upon, while it does not have the body to give life to it. 

And so should we live the live we have, as we only have it for a brief moment, before it and us expires.
