Than there is separating their governments. Like religion, it is governments and the their ideological rigidity, which separates people, and keep them separated. 

Most, people just want to get on with achieving and maintaining the best living standards and life they can. 

It makes the job of the Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov, of the various Russian diplomatic missions, the Russian state media outlets, such as RT much more difficult, if not impossible. 

It reduces their credibility, reliability and authority, and increases scepticism about the message they purport to be delivering. 

As, even though they might think what they are saying is true, their political masters in the Kremlin do not mean or support what they are saying. 

It requires them to be dishonest and deceptve in what they  say about the Skripal tragedy. It makes the listener and the viewer of what the Russian government and its media announces, much more wary.  

Because, not only does the government, the Russian state, disrespects the honest people, the professionals who work for it, and, ultimately, for the Russian people. 


But it also disrespects the intelligence and integrity of those who listen to the Russian state media.

It forcefully reminds them of the fact that, governments, of whichever country, are never to be trusted. 

Since, irrespective of what they proclaim, the first objective of all governments is to serve their own interests, and only then, those of the people.

And what has Russia gained in all of this unbelievable fiasco? Indeed, what did the Russian government hoped to gain; a pyrrhic victory?
