MEN CAN NON FIND STUFF; TRUE OR FALSE? PART 1,

Men cannot find stuff. So exclaimed one of my favourite relative, with an air of conviviality. 

Men cannot find stuff, was that what you really said? Asked the her partner, sitting in the room with us. 

Yes, she said to him; as she repeated the phrase once more. Men cannot find stuff. 

But is it really true, that men cannot find stuff; I contemplated, as I reflected on  what she said. 


Was there something or anything 'deep', hidden or Freudian about the statement my relative has just uttered, in a manner which suggested that it was axiomatic. 

That everybody, both men and women, know, or should know that 'men cannot find stuff.' And, if so, if it is self-evident that men cannot find stuff or things? 

Then, what might it be that caused her to say what she said? After all, the man had only asked her, well, not even asked her where he could find the item which he had asked her about. 


It was more a matter of asking her for confirmation that the item was where he understood her to have indicated it would be. 

But, for whatever reason, fearing that he would not have found it, she cut short her attempt to explain it and decided to show him where it was.  

So, why was she being so helpful in trekking after him to show him where the item was, using her conclusion that, men cannot find stuff, as the justification for her action?


I mean, it was quite clear that this, men cannot find stuff, was not something which the lady had just recently concluded. 

It was a conclusion she had arrived at for some considerable time before. 

Indeed, it might have been arrived at through, as it were, the collective and accumulative wisdom or essence of all the female of the human species.

Diplomacy ought to be the process by which nations, through their governments, establish and maintain mutually beneficial and peaceful relationships between them; Diplomacy is not, like the Gulf Cooperation Council members and their allies, including Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Bahrain and the UAE states, trying to bully and intimidate Qatar into doing their bidding, by surrendering its sovereignty.  Neither is diplomacy what the American government is doing, in using sanctions to force the governments of states of Iran, Russia and North Korea, into complying with its demands.  About what action they should or should not take in pursuing what they consider to be in the interest of their countries and people.  No, none of this is diplomacy. Rather it is method of force and compulsion, which is not synonymous with principle or practice of diplomacy.  Which is about the art of establishing and maintaining peaceful and mutually beneficial relationships between different countries.
