JUST PHILOSOPHISING - ON HOW WALKING THE EXTREMIST PATH DOES NOT MAKE US 'EXTREMISTS.! PART 1.

The evolution of our semantics is not something which advances in logical, reasonable and measured way. In its inception, it tends to be crude and unrefined. 

It is somewhat like the characterisation of what Emile Durkheim has said about our human civilisation. 

That it is 'superficial'. It is, as it were, skin deep, and if you dig just below the surface, you are likely to find a cauldron full of the repressed dark and inimical side of our human psyche. 



The 'unsocialised', or 'uncivilised' persona of us, as it were. The 'me to the exclusion of everybody else.'

And that is really the crux of what it is all about; socialisation of our personal. 

One does not have to be a Marxist or follower of Karl Marx, to see the truth in concluding that us humans are products of our environment. 

You just have to be an observer of people in their ordinary environments. 


In the observable environment in which they live their/our daily lives, day in and day out, on and on.  

Being led by it and sometimes leading it, being shaped by it and struggling to escape it or becoming resigned to to.

Evolution, or, in the context of human development, our advancement.  

Occurs through necessity and/or the inclination of the more 'driven' and questioning of our species.  To acquire new knowledge, better ways of doing the same old things, to pose questions and to find answers.

   It is unlikely that things were ever getting better.   So, what are my thoughts about Hamas' unprecedented attack on parts of Israel, which has resulted in hundreds of men, women and children, some of them soldiers, being killed and thousands of Israelis becoming shocked and traumatised as they have probably never experienced before?
