CHRISTMAS, I AM, SO, ENJOY ME!! PART2.

But the Sun, which the ancients have deified into becoming 'The Sun God.' The giver of life. 

 The giver of warmth to humans in the coldness of Winter. The giver of hope that Spring will come again, and that Summer will follow it. 

 I Am not about religion, but about life unrestricted by the limited liturgical vision of Christianity. Which, like all things pleasing, it seeks to appropriate and 'Christianise.' Be it things, ideas or people.
So, whether you consider me to be 'Christmas', as do the Christians, and represents the unproven birth of Jesus Christ. 


Or whether you see me as being about the pre-Christian 'Pagan' celebration of the 'Winter Solstice.' 

 This, I say unto you, enjoy me, and do so in your own traditions and manner of celebrating. 

 Be happy and let no feeling of sadness or guilt enter your heart about whether you are doing the right thing in enjoying yourself and making merry. 

 Because this is really what I Am about; making people happy and joyful that another year is coming to an end, and that there is the certainty of another year replacing it. 


That the Sun God will, at least for now, continue to perform its human designated purpose, of sustaining life. 

 Of illuminating the Earth and all that is within and upon it, with its warmth and life-giving luminosity. 

 That it is doing this, is beyond repute, just as how the Christians, unfortunately, are unable to show any evidence that their 'Son of God', is capable of doing any of the things they have attributed to him.

Diplomacy ought to be the process by which nations, through their governments, establish and maintain mutually beneficial and peaceful relationships between them; Diplomacy is not, like the Gulf Cooperation Council members and their allies, including Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Bahrain and the UAE states, trying to bully and intimidate Qatar into doing their bidding, by surrendering its sovereignty.  Neither is diplomacy what the American government is doing, in using sanctions to force the governments of states of Iran, Russia and North Korea, into complying with its demands.  About what action they should or should not take in pursuing what they consider to be in the interest of their countries and people.  No, none of this is diplomacy. Rather it is method of force and compulsion, which is not synonymous with principle or practice of diplomacy.  Which is about the art of establishing and maintaining peaceful and mutually beneficial relationships between different countries.
