JAMAICA: A NATION WHICH CONTINUES TO GO BACKWARD INSTEAD OF FORWARD? THE END...

Would it be to the advantage of the country, if Jamaicans were to negotiate a consensus between their warring PNP and JLP political parties. 

Outlining national objectives and the fundamental direction of forward travel on which they are both agreed?  

Better serve all or more of the people and provide them with more stability, jobs and security.

Yes, it is a fact that the opportunity of having a job or legal means of establishing and maintaining a reasonable lifestyle, is a fundamental human requirement. 

Although it does not 'justify' or excuse anybody complaining that they have to steal other people's property or commit violent acts against them, in order to live and feed their families. 

Anybody who put forward such a case, should ask themselves the following questions: 

How can it every be justified, that my only means of living should be the robbing and/or harming, murdering of another human? 

What would that say of my humanity? And if I must become less than human, in order to take an innocent live or in anyway unjustly harm a human, then, for what purpose do I deserve to continue living?

Of course, Jamaicans should not really rely on the men of violence and those who encourage, protect and benefit from their crimes to necessarily be persuaded by moral arguments and compassion. 

Since it is unlikely that they are well endowed with such qualities. 

But Jamaicans should be able to rely on the competence and resolve of their governments to lead and govern them in manner which enables them to build and maintain an aspirational and safe society. 

One in which the violence and people who uses it becomes the exception, and not an everyday occurrence.

In they cannot, then there might be no realisable hope for this nation with a positive reputation which is as big as its evolving and notoriety. 

That would be an even bigger tragedy than that impacting on the nation at present. 

As it can only lead to an increase in the number of Jamaicans wanting to and leaving the Island, and making its predicament worse.
