'CONVERSING WITH GOD' - ON GIVING MEANING TO PEOPLE'S LIVES. PART 7.

L.G.: Well, T. Just reflect on the life of an ordinary human; probably you. What do you do with your time; how do you spend your days, and what have you learnt and experience by way of your living upon the Earth?

T.: Mmmm! Do you want the long or the short answer, L.G. Well, probably the short answer would be that I have found that living, for the ordinary or average human is about learning daily routines. 

 And the long answer would be that us humans repeat these routines on a daily basis throughout our lives on Earth.


L.G.: So, T. Considering that, what do you imagine my routine to be? What do you imagine that I do with my endless days? 

T.: To be honest, L.G. I have never thought of that, probably beyond the narrow and paranoid fashion in which most or all humans, depending on their age, intellect and upbringing, have thought of you.

L.G.: Elaborate, T. What do you mean by paranoid fashion?

T.: You know, L.G. Those of us who believe in or have believed in you, at some point in our lives, will have imagined that you spend your time listening to our thoughts. 


Watching everything we do. Knowing what we are going to think and what we are going to do, before we thought of and do them.

L.G.: And this is how humans imagine that I, whom they beleive to be 'God', spend my time; like a voyeur? 

 That, simply because I am a 'forever being', I do not place anymore value than that on my time?

T.: Well, I can see how you might be offended and even despairing of us humans, L.G. 

 But, sadly, it is the way we have been brought up over the centuries, to think of you, L.G. To love you with all of our hearts, and to fear your wrath.

Diplomacy ought to be the process by which nations, through their governments, establish and maintain mutually beneficial and peaceful relationships between them; Diplomacy is not, like the Gulf Cooperation Council members and their allies, including Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Bahrain and the UAE states, trying to bully and intimidate Qatar into doing their bidding, by surrendering its sovereignty.  Neither is diplomacy what the American government is doing, in using sanctions to force the governments of states of Iran, Russia and North Korea, into complying with its demands.  About what action they should or should not take in pursuing what they consider to be in the interest of their countries and people.  No, none of this is diplomacy. Rather it is method of force and compulsion, which is not synonymous with principle or practice of diplomacy.  Which is about the art of establishing and maintaining peaceful and mutually beneficial relationships between different countries.
