JUST A THOUGHT - ON 'THE CONSCIENTIOUS BLACK MAN'S BURDEN'! PART 1.

Yes, of course it is not only the 'conscientious White Man' who has a burden to carry, even though we often hear the phrase being used in that context. 

 That of the proverbial 'White Man' carrying the burden of his 'race', for all the harm their ancestors have done and said and known to have done to other 'races', such as the 'black race.' 

 No, it is certainly not only the 'white race' which is capable of doing bad things, even if Hitler's Third Reich might have suggested that that is so. 


No, sir/madam. Even if 'other races' might not have actually matched Hitler's Third Reich excesses.  

 We only have to look to the enormity of Pol Pot's barbarity towards his fellow Cambodians.  

 As he attempted to achieve what would have been the 'robotisation' of all Cambodians, except for the leadership cadre. 

 Or we could look to former Hutu Regime in Rwanda, in their attempt to exterminate all Rwandans of Tutsi ethnicity. Along with those Hutus who opposed the regime's 'final solution.'

Diplomacy ought to be the process by which nations, through their governments, establish and maintain mutually beneficial and peaceful relationships between them; Diplomacy is not, like the Gulf Cooperation Council members and their allies, including Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Bahrain and the UAE states, trying to bully and intimidate Qatar into doing their bidding, by surrendering its sovereignty.  Neither is diplomacy what the American government is doing, in using sanctions to force the governments of states of Iran, Russia and North Korea, into complying with its demands.  About what action they should or should not take in pursuing what they consider to be in the interest of their countries and people.  No, none of this is diplomacy. Rather it is method of force and compulsion, which is not synonymous with principle or practice of diplomacy.  Which is about the art of establishing and maintaining peaceful and mutually beneficial relationships between different countries.
