JUST A THOUGHT - ON 'THE CONSCIENTIOUS BLACK MAN'S BURDEN'! THE END....

Irrespective of the original causes of their problems. To draw a line under the past and put it away, since it is an unchanging past, and, unless it is allowed to fade.

It will continue the pathological relationship which it has created between the  'the black man'  and 'the white man.'

And lead to 'the black man' unfavourably comparing himself with the 'white man', and resort to blaming him for his, 'the black man's' predicament.

To become truly 'free' from the injustices of 'the white man', the 'the black man' must also free himself of the psychology and spiritual shackles which have evolved from his past oppressive relationship with 'the white man.'

He must now consider and prove himself to be 'the equal' of the white man, and live in the present in playing his role in building a future which is better than both the past and the present.

Yes, there needs to be a reconciliation between the 'the white man' and 'the black man.'

An acknowledgement of the wrongs of the past, but not a promotion of the remembrance of it.

Since the remembrance of great injustices can only lead to the avoidable traumatisation of succeeding generations, as they/we imagine and 'relive' them, without the context in which they occur.

And allowing them to become a casus belli and perpetual barrier between 'the white man' and 'the black man.'

A phenomenon which occurs wherever we find intergenerational prejudice, ethnic, nationalistic, religious and other tensions, strife and conflict.

By emphasising and prioriting the past over the present and the future.

The all become 'institutionalised' and act as a contaminant, a  barrier to the promotion greater understanding of us a present day humans.

With a common interest in building a better future for future generations. Instead of continuing to be the hosts of the exceptionalistic, elitist and destructive drivers of the past.
