IS RELIGION THE ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE? 1

There is a saying, that 'the truth sets you free.' It might not be clear what it is, that 'the truth', would set you and or me free from. 

We know, for example, that, in the case of a child telling his/her parents 'the truth' about what really happened to the missing cookie, or that they did browsed the forbidden website. 

They might 'free their conscience', if they really are bothered about the moral or religious reprimand about telling lies, or, an untruth, since the two are not necessarily the same thing. 

But there is a consequence for telling the truth, just as how their is a consequence for telling a lie, or untruth. 


In this case, said children might be punished by having privileges removed from them, or even getting a spanking. 

In more serious cases, 'telling the truth', can result in much more severe punishment. Such as incarceration, ostracism, and even death.

And what about religions? What if the people, both those who practices them and those who do not.  

Were to be told that, all religions which seek to make the people unquestioning servants or slaves of their invisible and/or patently impotent gods, are enemies of the people?
