MONACO GRAND PRIX - HAMILTON AND TEAM MERCEDES CALMED THE BULL!

A Big Congratulation to Hamilton and Bottas and Team Mercedes, for, again, having made it another 1 and 2 in Q.3 for today's Monaco Grand Prix.

A Big Congratulation also, to Max Verstappen and Team Red Bull, for making it to P.3.

Hamilton had done an excellent and consistent job in his performance during FP.1 and 2.

And yet, Bottas' consistently dominant performance in all but the final lap of Q.3, seemed to have assured him of the Pole position for which he had, at least until that final lap, he so earnestly desired.

Indeed, it might well have been the case that he had been given that X-factor, that bit of luck, without which no racer can seemingly throw all caution to the wind and navigate the hazardous Monaco Circuit, as if he is driving his car on a rail track, or is being 'guided by wire.'

And so it was that Hamilton was able to go that bit faster than his team mate, during the final lap, having been given his lucky break, as it were.

I do not know how Martin Brundle knew that Hamilton could and would have taken Pole, on this most difficult to navigate track; but he did and was proven correct. It takes a racer to know a racer, it seems.

But that was yesterday and the actual Grand Prix is taking place in a couple of hours time.

Now is the time of the race, when whoever wants to win the race, must successfully complete a number of crucial tasks.

Such as having a great start, finding his way ahead of the other races and keep ahead of them.

Having the appropriate race tactics and strategies for this particular race, and syncing them with his team and car coordination, and delivering the winning performance.

Aided and abetted by the dominant forces which might visit the circuit.

So, who will it be? Well, it could be any of the top 3 racers on the grid today, or, indeed, several of the others further behind.

I shall resign myself to waiting to see which intrepid racer will be on the Podium today.  Knowing well that, wishing this or that racer to win, will contribute nothing to the racer-team-car coordination and performance which wins racers

So, let us have another enjoyable and exciting racer. Go for it, guys!
