AM I AN ANTI-SEMITE, OR BEING ANTI-SEMITIC? PART 20.

Have resorted to using the tactic of conflating all opposition towards Israel's occupation and oppression of the Palestinians, into the 'generic' label of 'antisemitism.' 

 Taken to its logical conclusion, it is literally removing all scope for anybody, including Jews, to be able to criticise, to challenge Israel's oppressive and inhumane actions towards Palestinians. 

 Without falling into the 'catch-all definition of antisemitism.'

As such, 'antisemitism' and 'antisemitic' action could be seen as being, not just 'in the eyes, the mind of the perceiver.' 


Like theistic religion, it can be seen as an article of faith, a belief, one which is or might be devoid of or does not have to have any proof.

 But as having some kind of  'Mosaic law' status. A 'divine' attribute, as it were. 

 Which, again, makes me feel uncomfortable, as it not only suggests, but tries to give confirmation to to the concept and practice of 'Jewish exceptionalism.' 

 Of 'Jewish preeminence' within the family of humans.

Diplomacy ought to be the process by which nations, through their governments, establish and maintain mutually beneficial and peaceful relationships between them; Diplomacy is not, like the Gulf Cooperation Council members and their allies, including Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Bahrain and the UAE states, trying to bully and intimidate Qatar into doing their bidding, by surrendering its sovereignty.  Neither is diplomacy what the American government is doing, in using sanctions to force the governments of states of Iran, Russia and North Korea, into complying with its demands.  About what action they should or should not take in pursuing what they consider to be in the interest of their countries and people.  No, none of this is diplomacy. Rather it is method of force and compulsion, which is not synonymous with principle or practice of diplomacy.  Which is about the art of establishing and maintaining peaceful and mutually beneficial relationships between different countries.
