In order to meet and defend itself against this catastrophic threat to its survival as an independent and sovereign nation, Iran needs to have the greatest achievable level of national unity. 

That, however, is threatened by Iran's conservative religious theocracy. 

Something which seeks to preserve the people's pointless and illogical enslavement to unaccountable Islamic religious rule. 

While restricting and prohibiting them from aspiring and working towards the more logical and achievable desires of humans. 


Yes, the pursuit of 'earthly happiness', to fill out their/our short lives on the earth. 

This has meant that the government of Iran has had to contend with the frustration and opposition of sections of the middle classes, who want to retain the progress they have made in their life-styles. 

As well as the anger of unemployed and poorly paid poor who have had to suffer even more, as a result of the piling on of more and more economic and financial sanctions by the United States.
