JUST A THOUGHT, ON WHAT WE CAN LEARN FROM HISTORY.. P. 2

History, it is said, is a 'great teacher'. But in truth, 'history', especially human history, and you might be thinking that only us humans have the perception, the concept of 'history. 

'History', which we could define as the accumulated knowledge and/or record of salient occurrences taking place over a period of space and time.

The fact is that, 'history' is neither a good nor a poor teacher; it is not a teacher at all. Although it is, indeed, a thing, a subject, a record, written or memorised or past events. 


Of course, it would be wrong for us to think that only us humans live within the framework of history.  Since all living things carry within our genetic pool, the record of our history. 

This applies to how we interact with our external environment, whether we are migratory birds or other animals.  

 With the ability to instinctively foretell and predict changes in the weather and make and execute plans to mitigate or remove the threats they pose to us.

   It is unlikely that things were ever getting better.   So, what are my thoughts about Hamas' unprecedented attack on parts of Israel, which has resulted in hundreds of men, women and children, some of them soldiers, being killed and thousands of Israelis becoming shocked and traumatised as they have probably never experienced before?
