However, time does changes us; including my dear mother. Which is why I am pleased to be able to say she is showing more evidence of a stoic philosophical approach to her life.  

 As she is drawn relentless towards the curtain which separates us, the now living, from the impenetrable precipice of our common destiny. 

 Oblivion, where we are consumed into the unthinking state of unergosumness. A state of de-existence as a viable organism.


She presents as being calmer; probably more at peace with her cogitations than she had been before. 

Even if, with the appropriate stimuli, she, as are likely to be most people, return to her 'bugbear' or formulaic response.

My dear mother has now gotten through two major events. She has come through her corrective eye surgery, which has been relatively successful.

Diplomacy ought to be the process by which nations, through their governments, establish and maintain mutually beneficial and peaceful relationships between them; Diplomacy is not, like the Gulf Cooperation Council members and their allies, including Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Bahrain and the UAE states, trying to bully and intimidate Qatar into doing their bidding, by surrendering its sovereignty.  Neither is diplomacy what the American government is doing, in using sanctions to force the governments of states of Iran, Russia and North Korea, into complying with its demands.  About what action they should or should not take in pursuing what they consider to be in the interest of their countries and people.  No, none of this is diplomacy. Rather it is method of force and compulsion, which is not synonymous with principle or practice of diplomacy.  Which is about the art of establishing and maintaining peaceful and mutually beneficial relationships between different countries.
