WALK WITH ME - ON MY CANAL WALKS. 8.

But so much for the weather; this particular walk was to prove itself to be probably one of the most people engaging I have had the pleasure of making.

Yes, the pleasure I derived from this walk, quite apart from that I derived from the fauna and flora, was in the warmth and comradeliness of the people  I met on my journey.

First there was the man of a certain age walking his dog. "Good morning", he said to me, as I approached him.

A good start, I thought, as too often, it seems to me, that it is I who tended to make the first unambiguous gesture of greeting others I met during my walks along this canal.

"Good morning", I responded, and followed it up with a "..not too bad a day, is it?!"

He nodded and voiced his agreement, as he coyly used his kerchief to dab his runny nose, as his, as well as my warm internal body confronts the cold external environment, and give rise to signs of condensation occurring.

To be continued!
