JUST A THOUGHT, ON ALLOWING OUR COMPARATIVE DIFFERENCES TO 'VICTIMISE' US. ENDING!

If a person finds that they cannot be, as it were, 'like all the other 'ordinary' people', because of the absence of this or that attribute, ability, appendage or capacity. 

Then it is probably better for them to develop, as best they can, whatever skills and abilities they need to live their lives as fully as they can. 

And not be too put off by whatever it is that is making them feeling incomplete or unfulfilled. 


If a person is incapable of having a child by what has been considered the normative means, a man and a women having intercourse with each other. 

Instead of suffering the torture of an artificial invasive IVF process, then, they could consider fostering or adopting a child.

Difficult as it might actually be, we need to endeavour to avoid 'perceiving of ourselves as 'victims', because of our differences, and use them as opportunities to overcome the limitations which they could, but not have to, give rise to.


Considered in this light, Benjamin Zephaniah, instead of probably calling for the highlighting of men with infertility problem to be positioned higher on the social agenda. 

 Could more positively use it to argue the case for those men to consider adopting babies and children to provide them with the opportunities, both the enjoyable and the challenging aspects, of parenthood. 

 Which is a much bigger and onerous responsibility than that entails in getting your partner pregnant.

 We might find it more rewarding and fulfilling to focus on the things with which we feel or think we are blessed, than on obsessively dwelling on or defining ourselves by those which we perceive as a curse.
