AN ENIGMATIC AND POIGNANT JOURNEY AROUND MY AGEING AND EVOLVING MOTHER! PART 83.

My attempts to help, to offer her some reassurance are clearly not having any lasting impact. 

 She, as probably would be the case with some of most people experiencing her kind of mental, psychological and emotional anguish, seems unable to trust 'the concrete' over 'the perceptual.' 

The fact that she is still waking up as usual each morning, unharmed by the apparent 'demons' who beset her at nights.  

Only offers her, it appears, fleeting or brief respite from their torment during the nights, and, of course, her anticipation during the day,  of them tormenting her as soon as night comes.



 This apparently ineradicable belief that my dear mother is fixated on, is probably the biggest bane of her life and barrier towards her enjoying, as best she can, the final months or couple of years of her life's journey.

 I have tried, 'lord', as the saying goes, I have tried to explain to my dear mother, how what she believes is happening cannot really be happening. 

 Outside of her rather tortured mind. How what she is hearing and seeing, is not really occurring; except in her mind. But all of this is seemingly to no avail. 

 As my dear, probably just as how she or her mind has convinced her that her apparitions are real, has also formed the conclusion that, since they are so real to her, if these things, these events are not really taking place, then 'she must be mad.'

   It is unlikely that things were ever getting better. But, at least the Palestinians were alive, they had their homes, their roads, water, electricity, the basic requirements for having at least a basic life.  They had more freedom of movement in their 'reservations' than they have now, with the storm troopers crawling over and around them as so many wasps.  So, yes, it is likely that, for the majority of Palestinians who are being forced to pay the price the Zionist Israeli State has decided to extract from them, the attack of 7th October might be considered to have been a tactical mistake by Hamas and the other Resistance Fighters.   So, what are my thoughts about Hamas' unprecedented attack on parts of Israel, which has resulted in hundreds of men, women and children, some of them soldiers, being killed and thousands of Israelis becoming shocked and traumatised as they have probably never experienced before?
