FORMULA 1 GRAND PRIX QUALIFYING - HAMILTON DEFIES THE ELEMENTS AND IS MADE HAPPY!

On a day when the heaven opened up and the God of Rain seemingly weeps not only profusely, but persistently and make the Styrian Circuit more conducive for the sailing of strong little boats than for Formula 1 racing cars. 

The challenge of the gods of the rains and of fate, bot adverse and favourable, was thrown down, as they, the gods, declare: 

Come forth for battle, oh brave and fearless racers, and let us see who are the best of you all?

And so it was that all 20 racers of the 20 competing Formula 1 teams did step forward and entered their racing machines.  

And, in their turn, sped of along the rain-soaked, visibility defying and Syrian Circuit for, not one, but 3 fateful qualifying sessions. At least, those who made it first to Q2 and then to Q.3.

And of all the racers, Lewis Hamilton, with his excellent driving performance, did brought more than a ray of dazzling light to all 3 sessions of Qualifying.

And so it is that I am move to say, A Big Congratulation to you, Lewis and Team Mercedes, for having achieved your 89th Formula 1 Pole.  

With a stunning performance on a day when the weather and driving conditions demand that  only the very best driver, will achieve Pole position.

Also A Big Congratulation to Max Verstappen and Team Red Bull Racing Honda, and to Carlos Sainz and McLaren Honda, for making it to P.2 and P.3 respectively.

It was indeed a brilliant and controlled drive from a masterful Hamilton who delivered his Pole with the required speed and execution demanded of the circuit and the watching gods.

And now, the next stage of this challenge, is for Team Mercedes and Hamilton to convert this highly prised and deserved Pole, into a similarly deserved Grand Prix win tomorrow.

To do so, they must, as they have done today during Qualifying, fend off and stay ahead of the racers behind them. Because it is the job is never completed until its done, and done in a winning or successful manner.
