But which, as has tended to be her first reaction in times of stress, to hold someone else responsible. 

So, as she explain how and when this money went 'missing', I calmly explained to that the money was in her apartment. 

That she has just mislaid it; put it somewhere else than where she thought she had put it, and that nobody had taken it. Forget about it for now, mother, I advised her. 

Tomorrow you have another look. I could detect a bit of disbelief in my dear mother's response, but I reiterate the need for her to follow my advise. 




And so it transpired that, as I was speaking to my dear mother today, I deliberately chose not to ask her about the misplaced money. 

However, just as I finished and was getting ready to say goodbye to her, I was rewarded with my dear mother informing me that the money matter has been resolved. 

She informed me that she found it in another pocket than that she had been looking in. Bravo mama; I am pleased that you have found it. 

I did not tell her this, but it is my hope that this will help my mother to be more aware of how our memory and minds can become increasingly unrealiable as we get hold.
