POLITICIANS ARE NOT GODS, SO DO WE NOT EXPECT TOO MUCH OF THEM? PART 5.

Other politicians and governments, particularly those at the centre and centre-left.

Tend to focus more on improving the lives and livelihoods of the people.

On jobs, education, healthcare, infrastructure, such as roads, utilities, etc.

Although no government, irrespective of its tendency or position on the political spectrum, is likely to completely pursue only the goals representing its core values.

Its popularity will be influenced, if not determined by the extent to which is is pursuing the policies that sections of the electorate consider to be most important to them, personally, and to the nation as a whole.

The weight that the different sections of the electorate will place on the different policies will be influenced or determined by their current or expected socio-economic status.

For example, the unemployed will be more interested in promise of policies aimed at creating more jobs, and on reducing the competition for jobs. Such as restricting immigration.

The poor will be more interested in policies and promises offering increasing welfare services and social security.

To be continued!
