What we recall of our experiences of the past, tends to be a factor of how they impacted on our senses at the time, the strength of our continuing attachment to those experiences.  

And the extent to which we have succeeded in assimilating them into our subsequent experiences and move on with our lives.'


Because, although he was now a free man, Kazaliza's freedom was conditional. 

It was conditional him keeping his nose out of trouble. 

On him not breaching his licence, at any time for the next 8 years it would be operative. 

This was the only way he would be able to hold onto his freedom.  



And avoided the long arm of the criminal justice system stretching forth from out there, somewhere.  

And pulling him back to a place of greater restriction than he was now re-entering on his release.

In this respect, he did not only have power over his own liberty and happiness, but also over that of his parents and brother. 

That was a very weighty burden. And only time would tell or proved whether he had matured significantly.
