JUST PHILOSOPHISING - ON WHICH 'FREEDOMS' ARE OF GREATER IMPORTANCE. PART 11.

But this basic fact has not stopped some Muslims from putting forward the argument of 'respect for people's religious beliefs.'

As one of their reasons for why human rights consideration should not take precedence over difference to religious beliefs.

Of course, making fun of aspects of ones religion, of any religion, does not, of itself, ipso facto, if you will, mean that you or me does not respect that religion.

One might not agree with all of it or everything proclaimed in its name, just as Christians do not necessarily believe in everything the Bible says.

Criticising or making fun of something does not mean not respecting it.

People make fun of and criticise each other, but that does not mean that they do not respect each other. It means that they are human and can see the funny side of things.

Islam needs to develop, evolve this level of intellectual and social maturity.

To be continued!
