It speaks of America, again,  assuming the mantle of being a delinquent, a renegade nation. 

Something that former President Trump was withdrawing from.

So, yes, it would appear that most of what President Biden is offering the United States and the world, is simply a respite from Trumpism. 

And a reinstitution of pre-Trumpian Americana. It least, in as much as it is feasible for the Biden/Harris administration to bring that about. 



It will or should not be a straightforward operation, since the world has not been standing still during the 4 years of Trumpian Americana. 

Yes, there have been some countries that have been holding their breath, as it were.  

During the past 4 years and awaiting the return of 'America, as we have come to know it'. 

The return of 'our America.' But there have been other countries, other leaders who have been more prudent.  

And have realised that Trumpism has provided them with an opportunity.

Diplomacy ought to be the process by which nations, through their governments, establish and maintain mutually beneficial and peaceful relationships between them; Diplomacy is not, like the Gulf Cooperation Council members and their allies, including Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Bahrain and the UAE states, trying to bully and intimidate Qatar into doing their bidding, by surrendering its sovereignty.  Neither is diplomacy what the American government is doing, in using sanctions to force the governments of states of Iran, Russia and North Korea, into complying with its demands.  About what action they should or should not take in pursuing what they consider to be in the interest of their countries and people.  No, none of this is diplomacy. Rather it is method of force and compulsion, which is not synonymous with principle or practice of diplomacy.  Which is about the art of establishing and maintaining peaceful and mutually beneficial relationships between different countries.
