Have, with the onset of Trumpianism, become aware that the cost of doing so, is no longer tenable for or befitting a self-respecting nation. 

Countries like China, which has remained steadfast in pursuing its own worldview. 

Irrespective of the hostility and cost its detractors have and are trying to subject it to.

Countries such as Saudi Arabia, which, while it was, under the machiavellianistic rule of MBS. 

Seduced the Trumpists and Zionist by playing their tune or dancing to their music. 

Has, by the implication of the Saudi regime in the murder of Khashoggi, become a paraiah for the Bidenites.

Diplomacy ought to be the process by which nations, through their governments, establish and maintain mutually beneficial and peaceful relationships between them; Diplomacy is not, like the Gulf Cooperation Council members and their allies, including Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Bahrain and the UAE states, trying to bully and intimidate Qatar into doing their bidding, by surrendering its sovereignty.  Neither is diplomacy what the American government is doing, in using sanctions to force the governments of states of Iran, Russia and North Korea, into complying with its demands.  About what action they should or should not take in pursuing what they consider to be in the interest of their countries and people.  No, none of this is diplomacy. Rather it is method of force and compulsion, which is not synonymous with principle or practice of diplomacy.  Which is about the art of establishing and maintaining peaceful and mutually beneficial relationships between different countries.
