But rather to be supportive of him, and help the family to avoid their life becoming too stressful. 

'No smoking in your bedroom.' 'No swearing.' 'No dirty plates in your bedroom.' 

'Keep your bedroom tidy and clean.' 'No drugs in the house.' 'No picking fights with your dad and no swearing at your parents.' 

'No getting into trouble with the police.' 'Keep all your probation appointments and comply with him/her.' 'Get a job.'



Probably not surprisingly, although his dad found it very disappointing at the time, none of all these 'dos and don'ts dissuaded Kazaliwa from smoking in his bedroom. 

None of them dissuaded him from doing a bit of smoking, for '.... purposes.' 

In fact, in his attempt o keep the smoke out of his bedroom, Kazaliwa would open his bedroom window to expel the smoke. 

He also developed the ritual of using candles and incenses in his bedroom.
